Where We Showed Up
Old Dog Haven runs Pups on Parade twice each summer. Free admission, free parking, food trucks, games, contests, a silent auction, and more grey muzzles in one place than you have ever seen. Every dollar raised goes to the care of the senior dogs in their foster network.
We attended both events this summer in Lacey and Shoreline, Washington. We said hi to every dog that came by. The big ones, the small ones, the one who took a full minute to decide we were worth it and then would not leave. We talked to visitors about what we are building and why it works the way it does. Some of them understood it before we finished the sentence.
That was the part we did not expect. You spend the early days of something like this wondering whether the idea makes sense to anyone outside your own kitchen. Two Saturdays in a park answered that, and we could not be more excited.

When a senior dog is surrendered to a shelter, either too old, too sick, or too costly, most people walk past. Old Dog Haven takes them in, places them in permanent foster homes across western Washington, and covers their care for life.
They take the dogs no one else will. The 12-year-old with arthritis. The 14-year-old who lost their person. They prioritize the oldest dogs and those with the most serious health needs — the ones furthest from anyone’s adoption list.
There are more than 300 of them in the network right now. Not waiting to be adopted. Home already. That distinction is the whole of what they do.
Why Haven Theory chose them: Old Dog Haven is rooted in the same part of the Pacific Northwest we call home. Their mission is quiet, unglamorous, and deeply necessary. They do not chase headlines. They just show up for the dogs that need it most. That is the kind of work we want to stand behind.
The Impact
Seventy-five dollars.
Our first report was twenty. This one is seventy-five. Both are small numbers, and we are going to keep publishing them anyway.
Here is why that matters more than the figure itself. We could wait. We could hold these reports until the number looks like something a brand would want to put on a page. But a commitment you only honor when it looks good is not a commitment. It is marketing.
Every purchase adds to this number. The percentage never changes. And every quarter, we show you exactly where it went.
